About

Christian Amacker is your Tri-Cities Personal Chef.  Get to know a little more about Christian here:

Christian grew up in rural south Mississippi where he received his initial exposure to two of the world’s most popular cuisine cultures: Southern (Soul) Food, and Cajun.  Although from Mississippi, Christian grew up roughly an hour outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, and about an hour north of the Mississippi gulf coast.  Christian’s early food influences were that of Gulf seafood, country southern “soul” food, and a little bit of cajun.  Christian’s first childhood memories of cooking involve mom’s fried chicken, a Sunday-must, and dad cooking on the BBQ grill outside.  He attributes most of his culinary experience his mother’s lack of the same.  Christian jokingly admits that “Mom was a terrible cook”, and it’s not something lost on his mom either.  In his high-school years, Christian took to watching the cajun culinary legend Justin Wilson on PBS every week.  Christian took to hunting after school for his “after school snack”, usually consisting of a squirrel or rabbit that he hunted and prepared himself, and frying up the critter just to sit down and eat the whole thing himself.  Christian’s travels in the US Navy took him to many South East Asian countries and he became interested in many styles of asian cooking, with Thai being his most preferred style.  Christian went on to become an assistant thai cooking instructor at the Riverside Community College Culinary Arts School in Riverside California for roughly seven years.  Christian has experience in many styles of cooking, to include Mexican, Asian (Chinese, Japanses, Korean, and Thai), Southern Soul Food, Cajun cuisine, and obviously, American.
